FULL CAST ANNOUNCED FOR CURVE’S PRODUCTION OF GREASE

Curve today announces casting for their Christmas production of the hit musical Grease. Dex Lee and Jessica Paul lead the cast as Danny Zuko and Sandy Dumbrowski with Keisha Atwell, Darren Bennett, Sophie Camble, Jonny Fines, Courtney George, Luke George, Shobna Gulati, Patrick Harper, Abigayle Honeywill, Sophie Isaacs, Max Jorquera, Sinead Kenny, Nathanael Landskroner, Michael Lin, Martin McCarthy, Sam Murphy, Djalenga Scott, Justin Thomas and Natalie Woods completing the company. The production opens on 1 December, with previews from 26 November, and runs until 14 January.

After a whirlwind summer romance, leather-clad greaser Danny and girl-next-door Sandy are unexpectedly reunited when she transfers to Rydell High for senior year. But can they survive the trials and tribulations of teenage life, and find true love once more?

A favourite on Broadway, the West End and the silver screen, Grease topped Channel 4’s poll to find the 100 Greatest Musicals of all time. Featuring a phenomenal score including Summer Nights, Greased Lightnin’, Hopelessly Devoted to You and You’re the One That I Want, celebrating the birth of American cool and the incredible pop explosion of the 1950s.

Keisha Atwell plays Marty. She returns to Curve following her performances in Legally Blonde and Hello Dolly.  Her other credits include Peter Pan (SECC, Glasgow), Memphis – The Musical and Hairspray (Shaftesbury Theatre), Ghost – The Musical (UK tour) and Guys & Dolls (Piccadilly Theatre).

Darren Bennett plays Vince Fontaine. He is currently appearing  in the Curve production of The Importance of Being Earnest and was recently seen in Legally Blonde.  His other credits include Dirty Rotten Scoundrels (Savoy Theatre), Merrily We Roll Along (Theatre Clywd), Annie (West Yorkshire Playhouse), and Fiddler on the Roof and Singin’ in the Rain (West Yorkshire Playhouse).

Sophie Camble plays Patty Simcox.  She returns to Curve having previously appeared in Legally Blonde.  Other theatre credits include Kiss Me Kate (Paris & Luxembourg), Top Hat (UK Tour & Japan), Barnum (Chichester Festival Theatre), Dick Whittington (Hackney Empire) and West Side Story (Royal Festival Hall).

Jonny Fines plays Kenickie. His theatre credits include Annie (UK tour), The Sound of Music (UK Tour & Jordan), I Love You, You’re Perfect…Now Change! (The Union Theatre London), Avenue Q (UK Tour). Carnival of The Animals (Riverside Studios), Sleeping Beauty (Mercury Theatre Colchester). Altar Boyz (Greenwich Theatre, London).

Courtney George is in the ensemble. Her theatre credits include Thriller Live (UK & European tour) and Robin Hood (Plymouth Theatre Royal).

Luke George is in the ensemble. His theatre credits include Titanic (Charing Cross Theatre) and The Sound of Music (UK tour)

Shobna Gulati plays Miss Lynch. Her theatre credits include Mamma Mia! (international tour), April in Paris (Derby Playhouse and UK tour), Hunger for Trade, Come Closer and Cafe Vesuvio (Manchester Royal Exchange), The Jungle Book (West Yorkshire Playhouse) and Dinnerladies (national tour). Her television credits include Dinnerladies, Coronation Street (as series regular Sunita Alahan), The Slammer, The Circle, Where The Heart Is and Magnolia. She also wrote and directed the critically acclaimed comedy show for young women The Masala Girls.

Patrick Harper plays Teen Angel. His theatre credits include Kiss Me Kate (International tour), Dirty Rotten Scoundrels (UK tour), Chitty Chitty Bang Bang (London Palladium) and On The Third Day (New Ambassadors Theatre).

Abigayle Honeywill is in the ensemble. Her theatre credits include Guys and Dolls (UK tour). For film, her work includes Beauty and the Beast and Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them.

Sophie Isaacs plays Frenchy. Her recent stage credits include Kinky Boots and Made in Dagenham (both Adelphi Theatre), Robin Hood (Cambridge Theatre), Hairspray (Kuala Lampur & Singapore), and Legally Blonde (both Richmond Theatre).

Max Jorquera plays Sonny Latierri. A recent graduate from The Urdang Academy, his professional debut was in Tommy (Theatre Royal Brighton).

Sinead Kenny plays Cha-cha Digregorio.  Her theatre work includes Annie (UK Tour), West Side Story (UK Tour) and 9 to 5 -the Musical (UK Tour).

Nathanael Landskroner plays Doody.  This is his professional theatre debut.  He was previously directed by Nikolai Foster in the National Youth Musical Theatre production of Spring Awakening.

Dex Lee plays Danny Zuko. His theatre credits include In The Heights (King’s Cross Theatre & Southwark Playhouse), Hairspray (UK tour), Carrie (Southwark Playhouse), and The Scottsboro Boys (Garrick Theatre).

Michael Lin is in the ensemble. His theatre credits include Annie (UK Tour), Anything Goes (Sheffield Crucible and UK Tour), Thriller Live (UK & European tour) and Singin’ In The Rain (Lyric Theatre, Hong Kong).

Martin McCarthy plays Eugene Florczyk. He previously appeared at Curve in Legally Blonde.  Other theatre credits include Calamity Jane (Watermill, Newbury & UK tour), White Christmas (Edinburgh Festival theatre), Top Hat (Aldwych Theatre & UK tour), Chess (UK tour), and Broadway to West End (Theatre Royal, Drury Lane).

Sam Murphy plays Roger. His theatre credits include Funny Girl (Savoy), Shrek (UK tour), Hairspray (Macau) and The Rocky Horror Show (UK tour).

Jessica Paul plays Sandy Dumbrowski. Her theatre credits include Titanic (Charing Cross Theatre). Other stage credits include the Olivier Awards Concert (Royal Festival Hall), Josh Groban UK Tour (Hammersmith Apollo) and Sam Bailey West End Live (Lyric Theatre).

Djalenga Scott plays Betty Rizzo. Her recent theatre credits include Joseph and The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat (New London Theatre), Beautiful And Damned (Lyric Theatre), Chicago (Cambridge Theatre), Fame, Annie and Rocky Horror Show (all European tours), Flashdance (original UK tour), Noises Off (Birmingham Repertory Theatre), and Chicago (Garrick Theatre).

Justin Thomas plays Johnny Casino. His theatre credits include West Side Story (Kilworth House Theatre) and Mamma Mia! (International tour).

Natalie Woods plays Jan. She returns to Curve having previously appeared in Legally Blonde.  Her other theatre credits include Gypsy (Savoy Theatre and Chichester Festival Theatre), Amadeus (Chichester Festival Theatre), and The Boys From Syracuse (Union Theatre)
