THE SHOW
Inspired by the world of the Mujra dancers, who for generations have entertained the rich and powerful, the show brings Bollywood glamour to gritty realism.
WAH! WAH! GIRLS tells the story of a group of unstoppable girls who uncover deep secrets and create unexpected dreams as they follow their hearts.
This inventive blend of traditional and modern song and dance promises to be a sensational night out for all the family. Don’t miss your chance to see it before the rest of the world.
Currently in rehearsals, Emma Rice commented on previewing this new production at Curve:
‘Wah! Wah! Girls will be part Bollywood musical, part play and part dance extravaganza! It is a contemporary British work that celebrates India, the British Asian community and what it is to live in the UK in 2012. Leicester is a fantastic place to open a show, the audience is warm and adventurous. Curve is so stylish and we have built a loyal following after bringing The Red Shoes and launching The Umbrellas of Cherbourg there. We can’t wait to share this new production with audiences at Curve.’
