Why your support matters
As a registered charity (no. 230708), your support helps us to enrich the lives of everyone who lives, works and learns in Leicester, Leicestershire and beyond.
We want all young people to enjoy and participate in theatre, regardless of their background or financial circumstances. The funds you raise will create free places for young people taking part in our Curve Young Community Company (CYCC) groups. Our CYCC groups – Act, Dance, Musical Theatre, Kids and Technical Theatre – are weekly workshops that run across the year. They support young people to:
- Develop their leadership and teamwork skills
- Increase their self-confidence and resilience
- Improve their well-being
- Use their voice and share their stories
- Perform on-stage at Curve and at other venues and events
Every year, over 40% of our CYCC places are offered free of charge. This is really important in a city where many families face high costs and fewer opportunities to participate in the arts. Through your support we can offer even more young people the opportunity to take part in outstanding creative opportunities, express themselves and – most importantly – have fun!

“As a single parent and Universal Credit recipient, the bursary is vital to me. I am a key worker and every penny of my wages counts. The bursary makes CYCC accessible to us, when it otherwise wouldn’t be. Without it [they] would have missed out on one of the most rewarding experiences of [their] life so far.” – Parent of CYCC participant
“Being granted a bursary means so much to our family, it’s given my children stability and confidence … Curve is like an extended family; I feel confident that they are safe and happy in a loving environment. Thank you for supporting our family.” – Parent of CYCC participant
