Heritage Practitioner Madeleine Coburn worked with participants to research immigration to Leicester and the causes of the Ugandan exodus.
To find out more about the people who came to Leicester following Ugandan President Idi Armin's expulsion of the country's Asian population, Belgrave group members spoke with Broadcast Journalist Rupal Rajani who was just two years old when her family were forced to leave.
As part of their research into Belgrave's history, group members discovered the story of Bel the Giant, whose boastful leaps across the county resulted in the naming of towns and the area of Belgrave. Read the story here.
