Who can join CYCC Musical Theatre?

Our CYCC Musicals groups are for young people in school years 7 – 9 and 10-13. The group will meet on Saturdays.

CYCC MT 7-9 

Our CYCC MT 7-9 group provides students an opportunity to develop their skills and understanding of Musical Theatre. In lessons, students can enhance their singing, dancing, and acting abilities whilst also building self-confidence and artistic growth through a variety of showcases. This group meets every Saturday with a director, and choreographer or Musical Director for 3 hours. Anyone can join you just need to be in the school years 7 – 9 and based in Leicester.

CYCC MT 10 – 13

Our CYCC MT 10-13 is a place for young participants to enhance and improve your acting, singing, and dancing skills while studying a range of musicals from past to present. In these classes, you will look at a range of techniques and meet with professionals to assist you in becoming highly skilled in all areas. This group meets every Saturday with a director, and choreographer or Musical Director for 3 hours. Anyone can join you just need to be in the school years 10 – 13 and based in Leicester.

• The chance to work alongside other like-minded young artists to a professional standard.

• Equal development of the three core Musical Theatre skills – singing, acting, and dancing.

• Through ensemble working, development of wide skillset including personal confidence and presentation skills.

• An opportunity to work with a professional Director, Musical Director, and Choreographer across three terms.

• An opportunity to also work with Curve’s Technical, Stage Management, and Wardrobe staff on productions, giving experience in backstage professional theatre practices.

• Free places at guest workshops at Curve, including audition techniques and support on
drama school applications.
